Hand washing is NOT the main way to prevent Covid! It is important, but staying out of indoor spaces with poor ventilation is SO much more important, even when you are wearing a mask. What about Covid?

Yes, Covid is on river trips. It is not fun. Here are some steps you can do before and during your trip.
