  • Paco Pad or Thermarest

Thermarest or Paco pad, Thermarest repair kit-coordinate

  • Sleeping bag (light for summer, heavy for winter or bring two)
  • Sheet

(especially for summer--sand shakes easier out of a sheet than a sleeping bag and may be all you need for summer nights. A sheet sewn into an envelope helps keep it from bunching up)

  • Blanket (1 summer, 2 winter)
  • Tent

Three or Four season in Winter, three season in summer to withstand high wind and blowing sand.

  • Ground tarp

This should be large enough to keep you and your sleep gear out of the sand.

  • Chair

Folding Chairs (cheap ones are just that. Your chair must be comfortable foryou.) must be tough enough to last the trip.

  • Music (optional)
  • Misc

Water Bottles (2 x l quart) Life jacket Type I, II, III, or V Whistle (non ball-type) River knife (optional) Large dry bag 4400-5500 cu. in. (if shaky looking, turn it inside-out & partial fill to check for leaks... 2 for winter trip) Small dry bag (use for day bag in winter) Day Pack or fanny pack (w/water bottle holders) Personal Hot/cold Cup Butane lighter (for candles, emergencies, frayed cam strap ends) Plastic bags: Trash bags (1-3 as liner for leaking gear bag, compactor bags work best), Ziplock baggies, qt & gallon sizes
